There was nothing Antionette "Toni" Sherman loved more than ending her day with an impromptu fishing trip. After a long day crunching numbers in the Pentagon, Sherman would pick up her foster son and fishing gear and head to her favorite spot. At 35, Sherman filled her life with the things she loved - island cruises, family reunions, the little boy she planned to adopt, her dogs Oreo and Rex, trips to Florida, bowling leagues and Pokeno tournaments. "She loved children. She was always carting other people's kids around," said her mom, Eloise Clarke, who lived about 10 miles from her daughter's home in suburban Maryland. "That's what gave her the incentive to become a foster mom." A federal employee since 1983, Sherman was working as an Army budget analyst when Flight 77 hit the Pentagon. She was one of the first victims to be airlifted to a hospital. She died from her injuries at Washington Hospital Center's burn unit last week.
